downhill & cross country style biking - full day guided tour

for all mountain biking lovers, peru has one of the largest networks of inca remains and following the innumerable trails that connect with the most amazing sites in the cusco,puno, nazca, lima, arequipa,  paracas, passing through remote villages out of the reach of motorised vehicles, and having the chance to get know local andean communities and learn their amazing life style. mountain biking tour is a relatively new sport in peru, but new routes are rapidly being opened up, many of which offer excellent opportunities to ride.for the more adventurous people, we arrange long biking trips. we are best undertaken and an experienced tour operator providing professional guides and bicycle equipment as well as the necessary supporting 4wd vehicles.
we have cycle trips from 1 up to more days designed to get the most out of your holiday. beginning in the high andes and descending into the amazon jungle, we cycle from altitudes of 5000m to 600m. biking on the single tracks, dirt roads, humid lands, frigid and warm climates, camping or spending in the local's family houses.
at 7 am we pick you up from your hotel and 30 minutes travel by our own private van to abraccoroa on 3600m, here is the begin point for our downhill - cross country mountain biking into the sacred valley of the incas. safety orientation regarding all the gear of our bikes, the protective gears, and description of the route. from here we will descent on nice asphalt road (beginners) or riding in the single trucks for experience bikers.
in pisaq (2970m) it is possible to do a short hike to visit the archaeological remains of the incas time, visit the andean market and continue biking along the greenness sacred valley on the right bank of the river connecting to qoya, lamay, calca, urubamba (2880m) and ollantaytambo (2850m) riding on asphalt road without traffic and getting wonderful views of terracing, colony churches and also, people working the mother earth.
after 4 to 5 hours pedalling 33mi (52km) we will be in ollantaytambo, have lunch and travel back to cusco arriving at 3 to 4pm and end of service.

rain season
december to march. some days are with blue sky permiting to cycle this zone.

best time for cycle
after rain season (april to june) the mountains are completely covered with snow and the slops are cover with new vegetation making more nice for pictures.

advice for bikers

normal physical conditions and summer clothes, bikers require minimum of acclimatization over 3000m. one day before all the bikers will have meeting with the mountain bike guide at our office or in the hotel, who will give a briefing about this bike trip and also you can check the quality of bikes and gear will be used on this trip

november to march. some days blue sky with good conditions to cycle.

best time for cycle
april to october, on the rain season same days are with good weather (blue sky) permiting to cycle this zone. before to book your tour please see the weather report.
